They are both competent low-cost, low-innovation, high-volume
manufacturers. Once they get something working, it can work
well, though not always performing as well as some
(not all) higher priced gear.

What you will often get burned by with these manufacturers
is that they have a popular product; which they then cost-reduce.
This can sometimes be a completely different set of innards, with
a totally different performance envelope. So that's something
to look out for,
