Good point... mailing lists do have their share of trolls and strawmen,
too. Thanks for the illustration, but I'm not too sure what bearing it
has on the discussion. I think you'd still see less of it in the mailing
list than the newsgroup (your fine efforts notwithstanding, of course).
Being more available for participation has it's plusses and minuses. We're
probably missing a lot of positive contributions, as well.
