It seems like an old topic with Linux... but with more and more of
those ISPs deciding to actually use Linux in a production machine you
really think more companies would look at it as a more viable port for
their software... ie - Oracle just annonced recently that it will port
Linux soon...
I personally use RedHat 5.0 on our Alpha machines which serve as
our RADIUS servers (primary and secondary) and had to go with Cistron's
version as it was the only one I could find that would work; both Ascend
and Livingston failed to authenticate users and Cistron work'd right
out-of-the-box... However I would like to see some features in it that
aren't there... ie - Accounting to SQL server, etc... and I could
hack/kludge my way through it as well if I had time... but time is a
comodity most of us can probably say we're seriously lackin... I know I
am...
The way things look at this point I'd almost say those of us on
this list that keep saying we'd like features in a RADIUS server just need
to get together and do the work ourselves as it doesn't appear they'll
come into existence any other way...
Droppin $0.02 in the bucket on my way out...
