(ASCEND) rip updates?

Hi,
	Just wondering on the 2 maxes we have here, I have enabled RIP v2
routing protocol to update our local routes, however what I am seeing is,
when I connect to the net using my Linux box, and do a tcpdump, every 30
seconds or so, there is a RIP update sent to the PPP interface, this
incurring traffic ( i know its not much, but still), is there anyway to
turn these broadcasts off?  I still want to be able to use RIPv2 but is
there a way to turn the broadcasts off to the PPP interfaces??
