Re: (ASCEND) Secure Access Firewall

Speaking as one who has been burned by the p50 firewall a few times, please
observe the following warnings..

1) never let the size of your .fw file excede 35K. (don't ask why, it is a
secret rule)
2) never upgrade a firewall profile while it is active. always disable it in
the connection profie, then disconnect before making changes. If you are
doing this remotely you will have to reconnect to update the firewall then
disconnect again to re-activate it
3) if you are using the older P50s without the POTS ports, clear the filters
and use only one firewall to keep as much memory free as possible.
4) last but not least, ALWAYS disable the firewall before upgrading the
code! once you have upgraded, rebuild a new firewall.
