Re: (ASCEND) Cisco MAX

Hi !

fine to hear this, because we have heavy problems to get our idsl
running and only people from this list helped us. The TAC wasnt very
helpfull. They dont have a lab with idsl to try the constellation we and
others have...

the status is, that the pipeline can talk to the max4000 with both
channels (you must use MP not MPP). With the parameter permanent/switched
the pipe tries to call the max asap the line goes down..

They i want to try to make a connection from the max to the pipe.

If i am right, the *ONLY* way to get a call going to a specific port
is using trunk groups - right ?

I tried to place a call to the isdl pipe using a trunk grouo (nr. 5).
I could see any call the the diagnotics. The trick with trunk group 2+
slot number + portnumber (231 to use the first port on slot 3) didnt
work.

can i initiate a call to a idsl pipe with trunk groups ?

yes, thats why we try trunk groups. and i have still dial-out running on
my E1 without trunk groups.

In the systems options i enable the trunk groups. The max then assigned
trunk group 9 to my E1 Ports.

If i try to place a call (which worked without trunk groups), i have to put
the trunk group in front of the tel-number. So i put the 9 (because 9
is the trunk group of my E1 Port) and tried to dial.

I can see a d in the window of my E1 stat, so a call is placed. The
diagnostice tell my:

CALLROUTE:routeOutboundCall: phone number 907127987654
CALLROUTE:_matchTrunkGroup: TG 9
CALLROUTE:_matchTrunkGroup: matched T1 slot 1 DSL 0
CALLROUTE: found a matching trunk group routing call to DSL 0

??? i am confused.... we dont have a T1 in germany :-) what happens here ?

the profile in my radius:

pdemo-out Password = "ascend", User-Service = Dialout-Framed-User
        Ascend-Dial-Number = 907127987654,
        Ascend-Data-Svc = Switched-64K,
        Framed-Protocol = PPP,
        Framed-Address = 192.168.213.1,
        Framed-Netmask = 255.255.255.0,
        Framed-Route = "192.168.213.1/24 192.168.213.1 1",
        Ascend-Idle-Limit = 90

pdemo Password = "demo"
        User-Service = Framed-User,
        Framed-Protocol = PPP,
        Framed-Address = 192.168.213.1,
        Framed-Netmask = 255.255.255.0,
        Framed-Route = "192.168.213.1/24 192.168.213.1 1",
        Framed-Route = None

someone who is now back to australia and was very friendly and helped me
a little bit.. now we are waiting...

The main questions:

can i make a call to a isdl pip *with* trunk groups ?

if yes, why doesnt it work as described ? and why do we have problems
with outdial profiles which work without trunk groups ?
The only thing we changed was to enable trunk groups and to place
the number of the trunk group before the number to dial.-.
