(ASCEND) pipeline 75 redial
We have recently installed and are using a pipeline 75 router with our
servers.
We have been experiencing random 'freezing' of the pipeline for no apparent
reason that we can determine. In other words, the LEDs are lit as normal,
but no traffice gets through. The pipeline will not automatically hang up
and redial, and the only way we can restart is to do it via the terminal,
or physically unplug the ISDN jack and replug it back in. That creates a
major problem because the servers are unattended and in a remote location.
If it goes down we do not learn of any problem until we try to access it or
someone notifies us, and then we have to physically go on site to
connect/disconnect.
We have submitted this to the Ascend support group, but they don't seem to
have time to deal with this. Does anyone have an idea what might be
causing this? Any solutions?
I have also tried writing a script using Qmodem, where it will launch the
terminal windows and reset the pipeline. However, I have not found a way
to execute it when the site is down. Does anyone have a solution to
automatically detect the pipeline is down and then automatically reset the
pipeline?
Thanks for any and all help.
