(ASCEND) Ascend Max4000 Radius Authenticate Question

Hello?How are you!
I am write a Radius Server program which processes request from NAS(Ascend 
MAX
series). During my experiment I found that the user-password is not correct, 
its length isn't
16 bytes. So I think NAS don't apply MD5 method defined in RFC2138 although 
I have
set NAS using PAP method through its software. So I want to know which 
method
MAX using to encrypt the user-password. When using CHAP auth-type,
does it apply standard CHAP method defined in RFC2138, if not, what is it?

At present I am do L2TP experiment with Ascend MAX NAS, but I can find
Tunnel-Password attribute in the attribute list. Is it using 69 as defined 
by IETF do?
And how to encrypt the tuunel password.
