(ASCEND) adtran -> max 40xx (ISDN)

anyone have any tips for connecting an adtran ISDN modem to a max 40xx?

our customer is doing this, dual channel 128k..when they connect with only
one channel everything is fine, when they do 2 and I ping them, i get
response times of 14000 ms..yes, 14000

their session looks like this..
