(ASCEND) Connecting T1 to Bay Router

Hey all,

Hopefully, someone will be able to help me with this.  We've been going
over it again and again with Nortel's support people, and haven't yet
found a solution.

We're trying to connect a Bay 5380 router to a Max 4000 using all 24
channels of a T1, something I've never even thought of doing until now.
(and believe me, after 3 days with a Bay Series 5000 Hub, I seriously
doubt that I'll ever bag on Ascend as bad as I have before :)

The sync connection comes up, and the 2 routers are trying to negotiate
PPP, but the connection is failing with the following codes:

	Connect-Progress=75 - LCP State Request Sent
	Disconnect-Cause=40 - PPP LCP Timeout

I'm on the Bay side of this, and don't have direct access to the Max.  Any
help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.
