(ASCEND) CRC's on a Max 6000

I'll post this one for the general free-for-all.  I
have a Max 6096 that has four channelized T1's coming
into it.  I also see around 50,000 CRC's in the WAN
Stat window about every 24 hours.  Telco says there's
no way that a channelized T1 could be sending me CRC's
as CRC is a component of B8ZS, and all my stuff is
configured for AMI/D4.  The vendor that I purchased
the unit from has support for the product; they have
stated that these could be coming from the dial in
customers.  Ascend has yet to answer this question. 
Under the stats for each T1 (FDL stats, line errors,
etc.), it shows all zeros for all of the categories
(ES, SS, etc.).  Can ANYONE explain to me how this
situation could exist?  Ascend Max 6096, 6.1.24.
