Re: [TCLUG:293] Programming under Linux

i love the traffic on this list.. it generates lots of ideas, keeps the
LUG flowing.. instead of just a stop/start once a month thing.. more of a
community. for those who don't want to see all the misc messages.. why not
make a TCLUG-announce list for just meeting specfic stuff.. like dates, or
time changes.. and that kind of thing.. the main list should be open
topic..

The list should be a place where we go to discuss issues about Linux, no matter if it's a programming tip, some info you heard, or a question on how to hook it up to your toaster to you Linux box. Personally I want it open so I can hear what others have to say about Linux. If anyone disagrees, let me know and I will talk to Bob about setting up some other lists that are more topic specific.

Going through all of those made me a little cranky, but it's my choice to subscribe to the list. If I get sick of all the messages coming from the list, there's a simple fix for it. Unsubscribe.

From the results, it looks like Sunday night is a popular time, as well as any weekday at ~ 7pm. I have gotten some requests for 2 meetings a month. One on the first Saturday of the month and another mid-week, mid-month. This sounds like a good idea, but it could potentially divide our group. (Personally, I would only attend 1 meeting a month). I would like to see everyone together at one time. I will post the results on the web page some time today and we can discuss it at the June 6th meeting.
