Re: [TCLUG:1138] InstallFest appreciation & internet connect

Hi all,

I haven't had a chance to express my thanks for having the installfest for
the benefit of getting my internet connection, installing StarOffice 4.0
and configuring some other things on my system.

I am intent on dropping Windows 95 on my PC and to never buy Windows 98.
The Install Fest is making that possible for me. I look forward to the
next one we have.

Tim did such a great job of setting up the school lab. I couldn't have
thought of a better facility for the fest.

I also want to thank Sandipan and two other fellas, who I can't remember
the names of, for your patience and assistance. I apologize for having a
poor memory on names. Also, I want to thank Ben for helping me while at
the Hastings Quake party. Ben focused right away on my internet connection
with the modem's IRQ. The one Windows 95 established wouldn't work in Linux.

Ben was the first person who looked at the IRQ issue. I have an internal
Motorola 56 K flex modem. The support guy at my ISP who uses Linux kept
telling me to look at my scripts.

Once the IRQ was changed in Windows to 11 and to 11 in Linux, I logged into
my ISP in a snap. Scripts were never the real issue.

Hopefully there will be a time when I can offer TCLUG members assistance.

Thanks to all again,

Mark Jefferis
