Yep. It's just a matter of plugging in the right values for type, device
and mount point.

Yes that is why -- boot floppies have boot information on the superblock,
i.e., 'bad' information for the file system type you specified. Use a DOS
disk, or make a new ext2 floppy yourself. (Read the man pages for
'fdformat' and 'mkfs' for info on how to do that.)
