RE: [TCLUG:3420] MIPS is dead



And I'll be *very* surprised if there isn't a significant performance   
penalty when running a non-native binary, not to mention obscure bugs.   
 It wouldn't surprise me if they did a 68K binary on PPC type emulation   
instead of direct binary compatibility.

I've read that Merced is going to be binary compatible with HP-PA,   
meaning
they will be able to run HP-UX with a "simple" port of that. I imagine
they (HP and Intel) will also be working on x86 emulation.
