The only problem I've had with RedHat 5.2 and the later 2.2.0pre kernels,
is with dhcpcd client and pcmcia. I'm running 2.2.0-pre9(final) on a 486,
pentium, and a pentium II laptop. It appears to be stable, but I'm having
trouble with squid on the 486. Not sure why yet.

The dhcpcd client is the program that gets an IP from a dhcp/bootp server.
RedHat ships with 0.70, I have 1.3.something.

A newer pcmcia beta package is available and will be release soon (as
3.0.8 I think). This package is mostly for laptops that use the pocket
ethernet/modem cards.

I don't have locations for these handy, but if asked, I can provide. But
mostly thought I could trigger a "lets see if there are newer packages for
these" kind of response.
