o First, get a compiler for the system you intend to run the vanilla netrek 
server on.  

o Second, code for the vanilla netrek server.  Not the bronco or the
sturgeon or the chaos or the hockey server code, just the vanilla server code.

o Third, unpack the vanilla netrek server code.  

o Fourth, configure the code to build correctly for your system and 
installation preferences.  

o Fifth, make the binaries for everything with the compiler.

o Sixth, install the binaries and start the server.

o Seven, if you have any problems, be sure you're sending mail to the right
email list.  Not everything that uses the word "vanilla" is about the spice.  
It could just mean BLAND.  And I do mean BLAND.
