My guess would be that you downloaded the wrong image. p50bria.bin was for the
old architecture P50 - downloads direct to nvram and runs from there. The
image is about 880K in size. The p50brib.bin image loads into flash - and is
then *decompressed* into NVRAM to run - it is only about 420K in size.

You didn't say which image you were trying, so I'm guessing it was the
non-compressed version...
