(ASCEND) Not recognizing modems

I just had a MAX4002 box shipped to me. I took four DM-12 modem cards out of a broken MAX4002 (bad UDP port) and put them in the new Max4002 box. When I boot up the modems are not properly recognized. The status window indicates the device is not present. 

Diagnostic mode generates the following message during bootup:

LMODEMS: shared memory failure-Word at 2E100000 was bc87(bc87), expected 0007
LMODEMS: shared memory failure-Word at 3E100000 was bc87(bc87), expected 0007
LMODEMS: shared memory failure-Word at 4E100000 was bc87(bc87), expected 0007
LMODEMS: shared memory failure-Word at 5E100000 was bc87(bc87), expected 0007

Does anyone know what's wrong, and how do I fix it?
