RE: (ASCEND) 4000 Series Underpowered?
Version of Code and functionaltiy seems important too..
Is there a case for optimising code on Maxes to pure ISDN/ pure modem
calls? What are people observed Maximum sessions?
I have had 3 PRIs on a MAX as an emergency measure;
with next day swapout on a failed box any problems that build up
requiring a reset represent an acceptable risk. I cannot however leave the
system in this configuration . Typically I go 2/3 Months without a reset on
2 E1 lines on 46Cp9, try 2/3 days with 4PRIs!.

the little i960 processor with the code the 4048 gets slugish around 48
calls . Just know the limitations.
