(ASCEND) Eh? Why release a broken OS?
If this is true :
> Windows 95 machines installed with Winsock.dll (version 2.0) fail
>to log in successfully.
>You should configure Windows 95 in one of the following ways:
> Upgrade Windows 95 with the latest Microsoft Dialup Networking patch1.2,
>msdun12.exe.
> Revert to older versions of Winsock.dll.

I'm having a hard time understanding why you would release something that
is broken? As your boxes are primarily used in ISP's as NAS's and primarily
the users that dial into your boxes are WIN 95 users this surprises me that
you would release a OS that you know to be broken.
Especially with a Major New release, This is not a patch, so I would guess
you want some sort of quality associated with a major release as 2.1.
Also maybe you don't understand the costs associate from providing
tech-support to thousands of users, when those users call in because
they can no-longer connect, that 800 number the customer dialed to
get support form his/her ISP is costing the ISP money because the ISP has
to pick up the cost of that call. Plus the cost of paying the tech to
troubleshoot the call. (Thus in reality Ascend is costing the ISP money).
