Maybe someone from Ascend would like to comment?
I'd specifically like to know how this model fits with the plans
for upgradeability. The reseller price for the P50 is approx.
$445 around here. I find that fairly steep for an old version
that won't even run flawlessly (reboot problems with versions

Before this matter regarding the future of the slide-switch models
is resolved (and we will certainly speak to our distributor about
this as well) I will encourage our management to buy Cisco or
Netopia instead of Pipelines.
BTW, since we're already bitching about the Pipeline :) About a
month ago Ascend started shipping them with a partly useless set
of cables. Among other things there's no DB-9/DB-25 adapter for
the new console cable (RJ-45) . Since I didn't check the little
box before I drove to our customer, it took me an extra drive
back to my office to pick up a working sample.
In the meantime these colored cables are accumulating in my
drawer (soon the trashcan) :)
