(ASCEND) Weird behavior from a P50
We have a P50 here at my site that seems to exibiting some weird behavior.
The P50 has callback enabled so what should happen is a called originated
from my site should call the users and the users P50 should drop the call
and then call back. This is happening with every P50 and P75 that we have
here at the lab with no problem except for this one user. We have over 150
such users that everything works correctly. Ok now to the problem. This
one P50 when it gets called from our site will drop the connection and
then call back. Most of the time everything works fine and it connects
correctly. But every once in a while about 5 - 10 % of the time the users
P50 will callback and get a LAN security error. Our router will then try
to call the users P50 and will establish a connection and it will then stay
up and the callback will not take effect. I have given this user multiple
P50's and all the P50's that we have here at the lab are configured exactly
the same except of IP address and names since we use a script to configure
them. Other important infomation. The switch type is a 5ESS National and
we use an IBM NT device with the P50 unit. Has anyone experienced simular
problems? Another important fact. This user keeps his line up most of the
time since he is usuing Windows NT and has a server set up at home for file
transfers. This is something that is unique to his situation since most of
the P50's we have are not up as much as his and this I feel could be
causing the problem somehow.
