(ASCEND) Telnet to the router when using NAT?

How can you telnet to a Pipeline which is NATting with Single IP address,
coming from the public side?

I have tried a static map of the form:

 x >Valid=Yes                   x
 x  Dst Port #=23               x
 x  Protocol=TCP                x
 x  Loc Port #=23               x
 x  Loc Adrs=192.168.2.254      x

Where 192.168.2.254 is the inside (Ethernet) address of the Pipeline, but
this doesn't work.

I have also tried setting 192.168.2.254 as the "Def Server". This also
doesn't work.

So I cannot manage the Pipeline except by Ascend Remote Management?
