(ASCEND) 4048's and PRI's question
We are currently running 2 4048's in each of our pop's with 3 dss circuits,
with stacking enabled. Code is 6.1.24. We are going to be upgrading to
pri's shortly (to accept isdn calls as well as modem), and I have a couple
questions.
1. I have been told that all three pri's will share a d channel. Will that
work on the second max via stacking? (not my choice on that)
2. If I set the SLOT= option to 0 on each channel, and excl routing=no,
will the max correctly route modem calls to the modems, and isdn calls
correctly? If I read the manual correctly, it says it will, but I need to
know if it will work in the real world. My manuals are fairly out of date.
Also, should I look out for anything (gotcha's) in changing this setup? The
maxen have been very stable so far, with no unusual rebooting, etc.
(knocking on wood)
I currently don't have the luxury of having an additional dedicated box for
isdn calls, so I need to make this work with as little trouble as possible,
since it will be done with "production" equipment in a live environment.
