Yes, 6.1.24 is the best I have seen from Ascend in quite a while. OTOH, I
don't dare to run OSPF on them.
Ever seen "Radius client timeout (code=1) for user ..." from your Maxen? Only
our 40xx does that. Happens at irregular intervals with 6.1.24 and requires a
healthy "Ascend standard bugfix procedure"...
Haven't seen those yet? Just wait, you will ;-)

I heard very good things about the Bintec routers. Worktime is expensive.
There is a break even point for worktime required for "fixing" Ascends and
"replacing Ascends".
Next time we got a problem with our Maxen, I will get a small P50 and burn it
in front of the Max and yell "See what I do to your children? NOW WORK!"
