(ASCEND) IP accounting with a P75?

Hello,

I'm new to this list and I've already got a question. Maybe someone knows an
answer for me?

I've got a network at home with 8 computers connected. The LAN is hooked to an
Ascend P75 which is being used as an Internet Access Router.

So far so good, .. but now I need some kind of an accounting facility to be
able to split the internet cost between those 8 computers (e.g. 8 people)

I know that the Ascend doesn't have any accounting capabilities built in, so
I'm looking for any other solution that might help me achieve my goal.


It doesn't even have to be a very accurate solution, so I could even go for
some kind of a de-centralized solution where something runs on the client
computers that counts IP traffic. This would be completely sufficient.

Of course if there's a way to still do it with a P75 this would be a lot
easier.

Any pointers into the right direction are highly appreciated!
