RE: (ASCEND) MAX6000 and 10/100 Ethernet?

Hello Troy,

I am pretty sure we're using Cisco Switches although I am not into
the details of our backbone infrastructure yet.

By chance or by design? Sorry, I probably sound somewhat negative. I
just can't believe that a machine costing a 5 digit amount can't get
a simple ethernet interface right.

Even at peak times I have never seen all chanels busy yet. This was
around 0830-0900 local time this morning, definatly not a peek time.
I suspect a secondary effect caused by the fact that ethernet,
routing, logging, accounting, RADIUS, etc. wasn't reachable due to
the ethernet problems. The line went up immediatly after connecting
the MAX to a different port on the switch.

That sounds more like the right area to look. Thanks for the tip.
There is still the slight problem, that the MAX is 30min. driving
time away from my office and slightly too far for a serial
connection... oh well.
