Yes, but a good admin knows that 50Gb of disk means you need to potentially
backup that 50Gb of disk, which means larger tape drives, more tapes or
someone to switch 24Gb tapes so you can get the entire drive for backup.

OR

An increase in LAN traffic as you backup that machine's 50Gb disk to a tape
silo across the LAN.
