(ASCEND) Modem Strings for Use with Flexed Maxen?
I have a specific request and a general offer...
The "specific request" is for strings that have gotten good results
when connecting to a Flexed Max 4004 running 5.0Ap42 with:
GVC Technologies MaxTech 28.8
Motorola ModemSURFR 28.8
In this case, both folks are using them on Linux boxes. They
seemed to work fine prior to the upgrade (we were way back in
4.6C). Now the Motorola too frequently locks up after a bit
and the GVC seems to connect fine but get crummy actual
throughput.
The "general offer" is that I would be happy to put up a page
of init strings for various modems if folks wanted to send me
what they've got. I could set up separate pages for Flexed vs.
unFlexed, but Ascend's site has one for unFlexed (a bit old,
but it's there, at least) so the demand for that may not be as
great. Anyway, we should be able to get a good list together
of strings and other configuration tips. It certainly would
beat posting to the list about it. ;-)
