RE: (ASCEND) Ascend Max 4004 & Series56 Digital Modem Remote Gateway Probs



Well, I found the problem.  We used to operate some Portmasters, however we
have taken them offline.  The model we used (2e) had horrible RIP support in
it, so I had configured our main router to route the subnet to two
portmasters, I had forgotten about this route, and when I realized that
static IP service worked on the same subnet as the MAX's main IP address, I
found the problem and fixed it.  Now the subnet is routed to the max since
the max broadcasts the RIP information for that subnet.  Thanks for all of
the help, your messages helped me remember about the portmaster's RIP
problem.
