(ASCEND) Can't ping Max 6K

I have a new Max 6K that I can't ping in or out of.
The back panel leds look normal: link on, Act flashing,
and the Col light is off, but the unlabeled one above it
is on solid. What does that indicate?

100bt and FDX are off.

I've double-double-checked my address/mask, what else
might be wrong????
