Re: (ASCEND) Please talk to me about the 6248...
Pardon me Jim - but did you buy the 6000 unit without knowing the options
you paid for or what else was required. - It may have been someone elses
purchase but the old addage about buyer beware sounds appropiate.
I also have a 6000 with 2 active channels and saved about $5500 Aus$ by
getting the unhashed unit. After 6 months we are still only running 20
active ports ( 30 modems installed - 2 cards) as most of my members have
stayed on the old 33.6 analogue lines - But I purchased the unit in full
knowledge that the hash code will cost about $6000 -
were you not given this info ? or were you not the original buyer. I hope
the sales droid did not hide this info...
We only have 2 ascend dealers to work with in Aus ( that I know of) and 1
did not even seem to know that the cut down version was an option tried to
force a 6000 /120 unit on me - the other offered the 6000/60 much beter
deal to get going with.
but it needs some flashing lights on the front panel.
Enjoy
