(ASCEND) T1 issues

Anyone ever try hooking up a TNT to a Pipeline 130 back to back over a T1
crossover cable?  Or for that matter, two Pipelines?  I'm having a problem
with this... T1 seems to come up without a problem (as per the TNT's line 
command), the call connects, but after 15-20 seconds go by, the call is
dropped and no lan session is established.  Looked at the Pipeline end of
things, it's transmitting packets over the WAN, but not receiving any.
Same thing when plugging two pipelines back to back over the T1-xover
(pinout like this 1245-1245 --> 1245-4512)... both Pipelines can xmit, but
not receive...  I want to do this for trouble shooting purposes... need to
eliminate the phone company's line from the equation to make sure the
problem isn't their line... I have tried several different crossover
cables (all manufactured, not home-made) and got the same prob... 

As for configuration info, using ppp connection, no authentication, 
esf/b8zs on both sides, 24 nailed channels... in each case, one side or
the other is a clocking source, but never both.  

any suggestions?
