RE: (ASCEND) I killed my P50

I did this once with a P50:

power the p50 down 
take the cover off
locate P5 (I think it was P5, if not, look for P9)
place a jumper across it
connect your PC with a modem cable (not a null modem cable!) to the P50
(use hyperterm or similar, set to 8,1,N,57600)
power up 
you should get a prompt then (">")
type "df" (means download file I think)
load the software using Xmodem
after finishing the load, power down again
take the jumper off P5 (or P9?)

.. and be careful with electrosatics.. 

worked for me.
