(ASCEND) Stable software for Pipeline 50?

I'm having some problems with a Pipeline 50 here, and as a 'last resort'
I'd like to try installing new software. Currently it's running 6.1.19. On
the Ascend FTP site, quite a few SW versions are available.
I have 2 options:
1. reinstall 6.1.19 - I'll have a 'clean' version of the SW, but if it went
wrong once, it may do it again
2. install a later version which may not have the same problems. Question
is, not all SW releases seem to be reliable (ISTR discussions of this
before, but you know how it is with the archive of this list).

So, any recommendations? Which version should I use?
