(ASCEND) routing weirdness
I am seeing a strange problem with our maxes.
Lets say the maxes sit on a couple of /24s that are proxied for simple dialup.
Mixed in are the occasional radius assigned routes where I give a user a
static IP address and route them say a /29 from another ip block.
This is where the problem begins.
Any other /29 from the same block above not used by a radius assigned route,
is not visable from outside either /24 used by the maxes. It is visiable
from the rest of our network and outside our network.
A traceroute from a max to the affected address bounces (redirects) among
the maxes until it evenutally times out. The default gateway does not appear
to be used.
Please note, everything "inside" the max segments works fine. It is almost
like the maxes grab a /24, whenever any smaller subnet is used.
Have I missed a configuration parameter somewhere?
The same thing occurs using ospf, rip or rip2
If this does not make sense, please let me know and I will try for a better
explanation.
Thanks for any suggestions!
David
