Re: (ASCEND) MAX TNT and Winmodems...
* I don't have any modem init strings, but some of our sites have had luck with
upgrading to the latest revision of software (windows software? firmware?) for
the modems themselves, and also to upgrade to newer versions of the TNT
TAOS operating software. 7.2.3 seemed to help one site, but another was still
complaining. These modems are only getting more popular because they are
cheap. (Not necessarily just cheap in that user buy them, but cheaps as in
manufactuers/OEM's are putting them in new PC's). I am sure that Lucent/Ascend
is following this trend also and the software upgrades will fix a lot of the
troubles. I haven't fired up and 8.0.1 TNT yet because I've got one that died
and the E1's are busied out as soon as they are connected. If I could get this
unit back alive it would be my first 8.0.1 upgrade. I have done a few 7.2.3's.
